The Issue
A young player, eager to improve his football skills, sought a change of club environment because, from his perspective, there were no opportunities for further development in his current club. However, the club did not want to lose a player who could become an important part of the team in the future as a promising football talent. Nonetheless, there was no guarantee from the club that the player would become a leading part of the team in the current season, as the coaching staff did not provide any assurances. Not wanting to wait any longer, in a situation where other clubs were interested in his services and eager to continue developing his skills, the player decided to leave the club. The contentious issues were the form of departure and the terms of financing.
THE SOLUTION
Mediation as an
Effective Tool
Through amicable dispute resolution methods, using settlement negotiations, we managed to work out an optimal form of separation for both parties at this time, which primarily leaves room for the possibility of further cooperation after the season ends. The player can continue to train in the area of amateur football with satisfaction and renewed joy in the game, with the vision of becoming a professional, while the club received a specific amount for the temporary transfer of the player, which in some way supports its further existence. Both parties won thanks to mediation, giving themselves a chance to move forward together with the option of re-establishing their relationship in the future.
